Our desire is to provide academic excellence in a warm and supportive school climate. Our school facility is second to none with qualified and caring teachers and staff, high quality materials and equipment, and a very active and interested Parent-Teacher Association.
In our vision, the Shamokin Area Elementary learning community is one in which each learner grows and achieves proficient or advanced levels according to the Pennsylvania performance standards in all subject areas. Each student will be prepared for success in the middle school and beyond.

PRE-K FULL DAY FOR 2016 - 2017
(Kindergarten for four-year-olds)
REGISTRATION TO BE HELD AT
SHAMOKIN AREA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Shamokin Area Elementary School will be registering children for its Pre-K (Kindergarten for four-year-olds) program for the 2016 – 2017 school year. Pre-K is comprised of full day sessions held in the elementary building. Transportation is provided to school and home from school. Through the efforts of the instructors, these programs have been especially designed to meet the developmental needs of four-year-old children.
To be eligible, children must be four years of age by the first day of school tentatively set for Monday, September 5, 2016.
Children must have received all of the following immunizations for admission to school: Hepatitis B (three doses); diphtheria/tetanus (four doses with one dose on or after the fourth birthday); polio (three doses); 2 doses measles, 2 doses mumps, 1 dose rubella, and 2 doses of varicella vaccine or (history of disease).
The entire process will take from ten (10) to fifteen (15) minutes of your time. Your child does not need to be present.
At registration parents must present a certified copy of the child’s birth or baptismal certificate, a record of all immunizations (shots), a history of their child’s health, including serious illnesses, proof of residency and a copy of custody order if applicable.
Welcome to the start of a new school year and another year of A+ School Rewards. Online registration for new parents/supporters begins on September 10, 2016. Shamokin Area Elementary School ID# 22347 will have the opportunity to earn cash through Giant A+ School Rewards Program.
All you have to do is:
· Return this form to school with your child and include your Giant BONUSCARD Number & Last Name

After you register your card, each shopping trip at Giant using your BONUSCARD earns CASH for our school! Each month, the amount of CASH awarded will be updated on the Giant website. You can track the amount of points you earn for our school by checking your grocery receipt. Our school will receive a check at the end of the program and the money can be used for any of our school’s educational needs.
Remember, even if you registered your card last year, you must re-register this year for our school to receive credit. Attending to this simple process makes a HUGE difference to our school. We need your support. Please be sure to register your card to benefit Shamokin Area Elementary School using ID #22347.
Also, don’t forget to encourage your friends and relatives to do the same.

Free and Reduced Meal Online Application
Shamokin Area School District has made it faster and easier for parents to apply for free and reduced meals.
This free service enables families to receive program benefits faster than using the paper application. Your application is electronically submitted directly to the child nutrition office for processing.
