In 2010, Shamokin Area School District was acknowledged as “smashing expectations” through an overachiever statewide ranking system. The District was rated at the 15th place out of the 500 school districts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Shamokin Area School District was also recognized in August of 2009 by Governor Rendell as one of the top 50 districts in Pennsylvania making the most progress in student achievement with the ranking of 13th place. It is an honor to work with our staff, students, and community in the Shamokin Area School District.
