My Name is Mrs. Lonnie Hauer and I am so happy to be part of the Shamokin Area School District family.  I am starting my 19th year at Shamokin Area and my 15th year of teaching Kindergarten for 4 year olds. The Pre K Counts program is a state grant that our district was granted so that 40 children can have subsidized preschool. It is a wonderful program and I am so excited about a great year. We are up in the Votech now and we have so many wonderful experiences here. We get to go on field trips to Cosmetology, Culinary and Dental Health with the Health Occupations. We love it here.

I am married 37 years to Bob Hauer and we have  3 grown sons, Bobby, Aaron and Dan. The boys have given us 3 beautiful daughter-in-laws and 7 grandchildren. 

My main interest is in early childhood education. I am a 1975 graduate of Bloomsburg State College with a BS degree in Elementary Education. I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood from Bloomsburg University 2005 and Certification in ESL and Early Childhood. 

I love how the little ones get excited about learning. It's fun to be part of their lives.
