Homework:

Homework is an important part of your child’s education. It reinforces concepts taught in school that day. Every child is expected to complete his/her homework and return it to school the next day. Reading and Math homework will typically be assigned daily. Spelling homework is to study for the words weekly. A pretest will be given Thursday and if the student does not receive a 100%, they are to write the incorrect words 3 times each. There will be no homework on Fridays. All homework assignments will be written in the student’s planner and placed in their folders. You are asked to sign/initial the planner daily and the calendar. This is simply to let me know that you’ve seen it. Also, any communication that we may have can be written in the planner.

**Please check folders daily. Papers will go home on a regular basis, including forms that need to be signed.

Behavior Plan:

The elementary school will continue to use the school-wide positive behavior plan called "Tribe". Students will be given purple indians heads from teachers inside their classroom and throughout the school when caught doing something good! When the student receives a purple indian head, the get their TRIBE card signed. After ten signatures, the student's card goes into a box for a drawing to go to the tribe board and win weekly and monthly prizes! 

Caftrac:

If students receive a paid lunch, please send in any Caftrac money in an envelope with your child’s name, my name, and the amount enclosed listed on the envelope. I will send the money to the cafeteria that morning.

Absences:

Please provide a written excuse each time your child is absent from school. Include your child’s name, my name, date of absence, and reason for absence on each excuse. Students who do not provide an excuse will be marked unexcused. Also, if your child is late arriving to school, you must sign him/her in at the Elementary Office. Tardiness starts after 8:15 a.m.
