I believe that Music is essential to a well-rounded education (you can read about some of the reasons why here: http://www.nafme.org/20-important-benefits-of-music-in-our-schools/ ).
I am a graduate of Shamokin Area High School; I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Susquehanna University and my Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University.  I am currently a Doctor of Education candidate at Concordia University-Portland, OR.  I am writing my dissertation on using the Music as a Second Language pedagogy and Modern Band music in the elementary general music classroom.

Over the years, I have taught everything Music-Band, General Music, Chorus, and Orchestra from grades K-12.  In my free time, I perform in several local music ensembles, including the  Penn Central Wind Band, the Milton Area Community Band, Susquehanna Strings, and, I am a founding member of the IT Clarinet Quartet.  I am also a marching and music instructor for the Lewisburg Marching Dragons, which currently has 90 members.

My husband and I have three daughters and one son.

I truly believe that everyone is deserving of a high-quality public education,  which includes the related arts.  I am looking forward to introducing your children to music!
