I am a graduate of Shamokin Area High School; I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Susquehanna University and my Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University. I am currently a PhD candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University Chicago. I am writing my dissertation on using popular music in elementary general music as culturally responsive pedagogy.
Over the years, I have taught everything Music-Band, General Music, Chorus, and Orchestra from grades K-12. In my free time, I perform in several local music ensembles, including the Penn Central Wind Band, the Milton Area Community Band, Susquehanna Strings, and, I am a founding member of the IT Clarinet Quartet. I am also a marching and music instructor for the Lewisburg Marching Dragons, which currently has 90 members.
My husband and I have three daughters, one son and three dogs.
