I believe that Music is essential to a well-rounded education (you can read about some of the reasons why here.)

I am a graduate of Shamokin Area High School; I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Susquehanna University and my Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University.  I am a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University Chicago.  I am writing my dissertation on using popular music in elementary general music as Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.

I have been a teacher since 1995. Over the years, I have taught everything Music including Band, General Music, Chorus, and Orchestra from grades pre-K-12.

In my free time, I perform in several local music ensembles, including the  Penn Central Wind Band, the Milton Area Community Band, as a founding member of the IT Clarinet Quartet and am also a marching and music instructor for the Lewisburg Marching Dragons. I also serve on the State Board as the Chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Council for PMEA.

I truly believe that everyone is deserving of a high-quality public education,  which includes the related arts.  I am looking forward to introducing your children to music and giving them a foundation for life long musicking!
