A little bit about me: I was born and raised in East Cameron, and went to Shamokin my entire school career. After high school I went to Penn State at University Park where I majored in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. I chose that major because I love hunting and fishing! While I was at Penn State I met my wife, and after she graduated we moved to Conway, Arkansas. While we were down there I got my Masters of Arts in Teaching, and got my teaching license. My wife is from Massachusetts, and she fell in love with this area. She and I both wanted to move back to the Shamokin Area, so after two years down south, we packed up and moved back to East Cameron where we bought a house, and a few years later had our first child, our son David, and have since added another little boy, Noah. We could not be happier to have chosen to settle down and start our family in the same place where I grew up. I am in my 7th year teaching for Shamokin School District, and looking forward to another year of teaching Geometry and Prob/Stats.
I will continue to be adviser to the Environmental Club, and last year we started a fishing club! For our first year it was a success. We took two fishing trips and had good turnouts to meetings where I taught the students how to make spinners, tie flies, assess waterways using macroinvertebrates, and more. I hope to expand this club this year and do more things. I love going to the musicals, sporting events, club activities, concerts, and anything else that we have going on. I always ask my students what they are involved in so that I can come out and see them, so you may see me at many of these events!
I love this area, and I always have. I feel very privileged to be working at my alma mater, teaching and helping the people of my hometown. If I could not teach here, I would not teach at all. There is still lots of hope and pride in this town, and it's worth fighting for and working for. I had great teachers when I went to this school, and I hope to leave an impact on the people of Shamokin, just like my teachers did for me. I am very excited to be here and I am going to do my best to help all of my students succeed.
