The beginning of summer is the passing of another school year. Summer activities and events begin, many of which are done with their families and friends. As formal education takes a hiatus in our everyday lives, it is important to realize that students need to keep their minds active and engaged, even when not at school. The family structure affords excellent opportunities to continue a child’s learning process whether it be through reading books together, engaging in games that challenge their brains, and/or doing puzzles daily. The influence of parents and their modeling of continual learning activities builds a successful foundation that will lead to the philosophy of being a learner for life.
Summertime’s are notorious for passing us by all too quickly! Family events and shared moments should be the priority for children of all ages up through adolescence. Treasure these memories you are making because far too quickly they do grow up, become seniors, and graduate!
