Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  My name is Michelle Williams and I am looking forward to a great year.  I am a graduate of Shamokin Area High School and very proud to teach at my alma mater!  I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Secondary Social Studies certification from Susquehanna University.  I am also certified to teach Pre-K through 6th grade as I earned my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Bloomsburg University.  In addition to those degrees, I have a Masters in Educational Technology from Wilkes University.

I started my teaching career at Transfiguration School where I taught 7th grade.  I was originally hired at Shamokin as an Elementary teacher and taught both second and third grades.  I was transferred to Jr. High Social Studies and then finally moved into my current position as the Psychology/ Sociology teacher.  I have enjoyed teaching at every level but I have to say that Psychology is my favorite subject area.  Teaching Psychology is both exciting and challenging.  I enjoy seeing the students make connections between the material we go over in class and their everyday life.  My goal as an educator is to influence students in a positive way and leave them with skills that they can use to better their lives after they graduate.
