    2018 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

Are you a high school student interested in showcasing your artwork? The Congressional Art Competition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent in the Twelfth Congressional District.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent of students from Western Pennsylvania,” said Rothfus.  “Last year’s entries demonstrated the creativity and originality of our young artists.  I encourage all high school students to submit their favorite work, and I look forward to hanging the winning piece for all to appreciate in the Capitol building.”

The winning work of art will be chosen by a panel of local judges and will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel leading to the Capitol for eleven months.  The winner and a guest will be invited to a reception at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.  In addition, there is the opportunity for a $3000 Savannah College of Art and Design Scholarship.

Students have until April 6, 2018 to submit a JPEG of their entries to rothfus.artcomp@mail.house.gov.  Artwork must comply with the guidelines in order to be considered.  Physical pieces of art will be accepted at the Beaver, Johnstown, and Ross Township offices between April 9, 2018 and April 13, 2018.  To set up an appointment, please call your nearest district office.
