Dear Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2026: Senior year is right around the corner! Filled with once-in-a-lifetime events, special friendships and milestones — this is a year to remember. The keepsakes that will continue to bring these memories to life are your child's senior portraits and the yearbook. We want your child to be included in the senior yearbook as much as possible so that it truly reflects his/her final year at Shamokin Area. The senior picture section of the yearbook is the most popular section amongst seniors. The goal of this section is to highlight faces and avoid visual distractions of different head sizes, backgrounds, and poses. In order to present all students in a uniform and equitable manner, certain guidelines have been established for submitted senior portraits. A clean, crisp color photograph taken by a professional photographer must be submitted. All students must follow the specifications listed below. ** *REQUIREMENTS: (Photographs that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be published in the yearbook.) Poses: The photo shall be a formal head-and-shoulders shot. Students shall be conservatively posed, full front or slightly to the side. Both eyes must be visible. No hats or props are permitted. No hands or arms are to be visible. Background: A standard blue/gray studio background only. No scenic backgrounds are permitted. No busy or distracting backgrounds. Boys: Dress shirt, necktie, and suit jackets will be the only clothing permitted. Headwear, of any kind, may not be worn. Girls: Girls will be wearing a black v-neck drape for the formal photo. In addition, headwear of any kind, will not be permitted. Students will have the option of getting their picture taken in school on September 30th & October 1st 2025. This photo will be provided to the yearbook at no cost to you. It is our intention to make sure that no senior will be left out of the yearbook for financial reasons. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Cheunes or myself at 570-648-5731. Sincerely, Todd Hockenbroch Principal
