Summer School Registration Now Open for Shamokin Area Middle/High School
Shamokin Area Middle/High School will offer Summer School 2026 from June 15, 2026, through July 9, 2026. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday only.
Summer school is an opportunity for students to make up needed credits, recover from an unsuccessful course, and get back on track toward graduation or promotion. This program is not only for students who may have failed a course during the current school year, but also for students who need to recover credits from previous years or strengthen their academic standing.
Summer school will be offered in person only at Shamokin Area Middle/High School. Courses will not be offered online or virtually.
Two class sessions will be offered each day:
First Session: 8:55 A.M. – 10:10 A.M.
Second Session: 10:15 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.
Courses may be available for both high school and middle school students. High school subjects may include English, Health, Physical Education, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Middle school subjects may include English, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies.
Summer school courses are for failure makeup and credit recovery only. No original credit will be granted. Students and families are encouraged to review academic progress and graduation requirements to determine whether summer school is needed.
The cost is $150 per course for all students. Tuition must be paid by the first day of summer school unless an exception is approved by the principal or designee. Credit will not be given until tuition is paid in full. Classes may not be offered if there is insufficient enrollment.
Students are responsible for providing their own transportation, and lunch will not be provided.
Attendance is required for successful completion. Students are permitted only two absences during summer school for full-credit courses. Health and Physical Education students are permitted only one absence. Any absence beyond the allowed limit will result in the student not receiving credit for the summer school course.
Registration will take place from June 9, 2026, to June 13, 2026. Families may register in person or by mail at:
Shamokin Area Middle/High School
2000 West State Street
