Dear Spear Families,
March marks the midpoint of the semester and is an important time for students to maintain steady routines and consistent academic engagement. As we move further into the spring term, this is a good opportunity for families to review progress and ensure students remain on pace for a strong finish to the semester.
Academic Focus
Students should continue to:
• Monitor grades and pacing in their Pearson Connexus platform
• Review attendance totals and average daily engagement
• Address any overdue or missing assignments promptly
• Communicate early with teachers if support is needed
The midpoint of the semester occurs on March 25. This is a good time for families and students to review pacing toward the final submission deadline on May 22 and ensure progress remains steady.
Families should also monitor Buzz email notifications. If a student’s grade falls below 70% in any course, an automatic email alert is generated so families can respond early and support their student before concerns grow.
Consistent daily engagement remains essential to success in a virtual setting.
Program Announcements
Elementary PSSA testing will take place April 20 – May 1. Elementary families will be contacted by the guidance department to schedule testing times for virtual students. Additional information regarding testing expectations will be shared as schedules are finalized.
Senior Announcement
Seniors should continue monitoring the 2025-2026 Google Classroom for senior announcements and important updates.
Senior Meeting – March 26
All graduating seniors should attend the Senior Meeting on March 26 at 9:00 AM.
If a student has not yet completed their Act 158 pathway, please contact Mr. Donlan from our Guidance team at virtual@indians.k12.pa.us.
Mr. Donlan is available every Tuesday to meet with seniors to review progress and ensure they complete all SASD graduation requirements.
