As we enter December, we shift from momentum to completion. The semester is nearing its end, making this a critical month for students to finalize coursework, recover credits where needed, and prepare for a strong close before winter break. December is about reflection, responsibility, and readiness.
Academic Focus: Finish Strong
December is the final stretch of Semester 1. Students should focus on completing remaining assignments, preparing for assessments, and resolving any missing work.
Please review:
- Grades and pacing in ParentVUE and the Connexus Observer Dashboard
- Attendance totals and average daily engagement
- Any overdue or missing assignments
- Remaining unit deadlines and assessments
If your student is struggling, early action is critical as the semester closes.
Spear Learning Center Support
Students needing additional help may schedule time at the Spear Learning Center.

- Availability: Tuesday–Thursday, from the start of school until 11:00 AM

If your child is uncertain or behind, please contact their teacher as soon as possible. Teacher contact information is available in Pearson Connexus.
Please note: During peak grading and end-of-semester periods, teachers may experience a brief delay in responding to messages due to grading, assessments, and student support demands. We appreciate your patience and encourage families to reach out early whenever possible.
Attendance Expectations (If Failing a Class)
Students failing a course must complete a minimum of 4 hours of active instructional work each school day until they are passing. Consistent engagement supports recovery.
