Dear Middle School Parent/Guardian:
On Thursday, May 21st the Shamokin Area Middle School will be taking a class trip to Hershey Park. Middle School students will depart from the Shamokin Area High School at 8:30 a.m. on May 21st. The students will leave Hershey Park at 5:00 p.m. (May 21st) to return to the Shamokin Area High School. Shamokin Area teachers will chaperone the trip. The cost per student is $50.00 (this price will cover admission to the park and the bus transportation). Payments can be made in cash or check (please make a check payable to Shamokin Area Middle School) and should be returned with a signed permission slip to either Mrs. Campbell (7th grade students) or Mrs. Alonso (8th grade students). The permission slip is copied on the reverse side of this letter. All permission slips and monies must be turned in no later than Wednesday, April 08th, 2026.
All field trips are a privilege for students. In order for students to attend they must have:

• No suspensions during this school year (2025-2026).
• No more than 13 unexcused absences.
• No bullying issues / cafeteria issues / constant discipline issues in the classroom.
• Cannot be failing more than one class.

**If any student is suspended or has any other issues mentioned above after purchasing the ticket, they will be given their ticket to go on their own time.
